I'm a bit disappointed in the emotions that were hyped up so much. It kind of bugs me that they don't react like that. I want my sims to get jealous over other sims because in most cases that is what happens in real life. Not the wives part -), but the no reaction part. Like I said not complaining just found it interesting and I kind of like this bug/loophole or in my case feature. Anyone else been able to do this? I thought the game would stop this, by word spreading and horrible jealousy issues (like in the Sims 3) but in fact it didn't. There is more help around for the children and they get along great (the poor husband is kind of dragging/tired though ). I now can have polygamists among my Sims. Not sure if this is a loophole/bug I found but it is really interesting. In fact the wife and the sister wife/girlfriend are well on their way to being best friends. The kicker is they all live in one house they all get along and no jealousy (well unless they walk in on each other). My male Sim has a legal wife and a unofficial wife. I have started a new game and it got really interesting. (The transmogrifier sets 'romantic interest' to just below 'friend' level, so Best Friend for the high LTR and a kiss is easier.) If you don't have University for the Social Networking skill that gives the transmogrifier, you can always use Master Controller or Debugger to set the relationship that way. Then, whenever they have a desire to get married, or if you want them to get married for pictures in your story, you can let them, then have somebody with Relationship Transmogrifier un-do the wedding immediately thereafter, setting them back to best friends, which is put back to romantic interest a kiss later. It does create a very minor negative LTR hit, but if a sim can't deal with minor LTR hits every now and then, then she's just not socializing with all of the parties in the relationship.
You can then have everybody get romantic with each other in private, then once they all have the heart with each other, you can openly get freaky: kissing, hugging, massaging, woohooing, none of it causes a jealous reaction. With the NRaas WooHooer, you can set 'No Polyamorous Jealousy' and keep all of your husbands/wives at Romantic Interest, set the My Love buff and spouse interactions to the Any Romantic level. If the game disagrees with the way you want to play, find a workaround. You're writing the story, the game is just a framework. The 1996 game SimCopter featured an easter egg where, on certain dates, swarms of “himbos” would hug, kiss and dance on the top of buildings.Just because the GAME won't proclaim everybody married doesn't mean YOU can't.
In addition to accepting homosexual relationships since the first game and the genderqueer update in its fourth installment, an earlier precursor of the game featured dancing muscle daddies. The Sims franchise also has a long history of LGBT acceptance. Not just that, but the Chinese government is cracking down on positive representations of LGBT people in media - though with increasing acceptance, there has also been backlash from citizens. Though homosexuality has been legal since 1997 in China, there are also no laws currently protecting LGBT people from discrimination there.
This has been important to us, as we know it is to you.” Given that, it’s not hard to assume that it’s the LGBT content that’s causing the problem.Īdding credence to this possible reason behind the Sims ban, the six Middle Eastern countries banning the game have all criminalized homosexuality. Though EA’s statement only refers to “regional standards,” the first paragraph mentions diversity: “We’ve always been proud that our in-game experiences embrace values as broad and diverse as our incredible Sims community. Players who’ve already downloaded the game will be able to keep playing, but they won’t receive updates nor be able to make in-game purchases.Ī screenshot from ‘The Sims FreePlay’ (Courtesy of Electronic Arts)
